A recent initiative by The North West Strategic Women's Enterprise Steering group has identified that there are particular difficulties in accessing finance for potential female entrepreneurs.

Indeed, access to finance is a particular issue for women entrepreneurs at all stages of business development with more women than men fearing that a lack of finance and a fear of debt would prevent them from starting a business.

As a measure to combat this problem, BBV along with the North West Regional Development Agency has compiled and published a guide to the various means of accessing finance. This booklet is crammed with information to help you choose the right kind of finance for your business, and where to locate and source the funds that are available. Additional information comes from a collection of top tips for starting and growing a business, and a number of case studies illustrating the wide and varied problems that women have faced and how they have overcome them with access to finance.
